TV Board

TV is governed by a nine-member Board who are the directors of the College. The Board manages the financial, legal and business operations of the organisation and is supported in its activities by the Council and a range of committees.

Board composition

The RANZCOG Board of Office Bearers and Directors are elected by members of Council, in accordance with the processes set out in the Regulations. They meet a minimum of six times a year with each iteration serving a 2-year term before elections are once again held.

The Associate (Procedural or Adv. Procedural) (or equivalent) Board Director is the Chair of the Associate Procedural Members and Certificants Committee. The Independent Board Director is appointed by the Board.

Meet the Board

Dr Nisha Khot

President

MBBS, MD, FRCOG, FRANZCOG, AFRACMA

Nisha is a Victorian obstetrician working at The Royal Women’s Hospital, Joan Kirner Women’s and Children’s Hospital and Bacchus Marsh Hospital. She also holds clinical educator positions at University of Melbourne Medical School and Notre Dame University. She trained in India and the UK before moving to Australia.

Dr Emma Jackson

New Zealand Vice President

FRANZCOG

Emma is Clinical Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Christchurch Women’s Hospital, Aotearoa New Zealand. She trained in the UK and New Zealand and soon after receiving her Fellowship became involved with RANZCOG, first as a training supervisor and then from 2016 onwards through representation on the Aotearoa NZ Committee.

Associate Professor Jared Watts

Vice President

MBBS(Hons), MPHTM, MHM, MIPH, AFRACMA, FRANZCOG

Jared is currently the Head of Obstetrics and Gynaecology in the Kimberley of Western Australia, and Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology for the WA Country Health Service. He also works as a medical coordinator and Associate Professor for the WA Rural Clinical School.

Associate Professor Michael Rasmussen

Vice President

MBBS

Michael is a Melbourne based Obstetrician & Gynaecologist, currently in a full time hospital Clinical Director role after many years in Private and Public practice. He is a Clinical Associate Professor with Melbourne University.

Professor Boon Lim

Board Director

MBBS, FRCOG, FRANZCOG

A graduate from Malaysia, Boon completed his O&G training in Aberdeen, Scotland. After obtaining his FRANZCOG in 1990, held consultant positions in New Zealand before returning to consultant positions in Scotland and England where he held senior clinical management positions like being Medical Director and the Clinical Lead for Maternal and Newborn Services for NHS East of England.

Dr Leigh Duncan (Taranaki Tūturu)

Board Director

FRANZCOG, MBChB

Leigh is a generalist O&G working at Te Matau a Māui (Hawkes Bay) with an interest in indigenous health, prolapse and vaginal surgery and RANZCOG College activities. A Fellow of RANZCOG since 1995, Leigh has dedicated decades of service to the College through numerous leadership and governance roles.

Professor Amanda Henry

Board Director

PhD, MPH, FRANZCOG, BMed(Hons), BMedSci(Hons), DDU

Amanda Henry is a researcher, educator and obstetric clinician. Her current main professional roles are as Program Head, Women’s Health at The George Institute for Global Health, Professor of Obstetrics in the Discipline of Women’s Health, School of Clinical Medicine, UNSW Medicine and Health, and Clinical Academic/Obstetrician at St George Public Hospital, Sydney.

Dr Martina Mende

Associate Board Director

MBBS, DRANZCOG (Adv), FRACGP, MPH

Dr Martina Mende is a GP Obstetrician with a commitment to enhancing health equity and ensuring access to comprehensive reproductive care. Her work as a clinical lead in a southern NSW GP-led maternity unit and in abortion care have contributed to these vital areas.

Dr Shaymaa Elkadi

Dr Shaymaa Elkadi is a values-driven governance and strategy leader with over 15 years’ executive and board experience across the justice, mental health, and community services sectors.
