FRANZCOG
Emma is Clinical Director of Obstetrics and Gynaecology at Christchurch Women’s Hospital, Aotearoa New Zealand. She trained in the UK and New Zealand and soon after receiving her Fellowship became involved with RANZCOG, first as a training supervisor and then from 2016 onwards through representation on the Aotearoa NZ Committee. She has served two terms on Council as a College Councillor.
Emma currently chairs Te Kāhui Oranga ō Nuku and the CPD Committee, as well as holding membership on several other RANZCOG committees. In her CPD role, she is dedicated to ensuring CPD requirements meet members’ needs and are accessible and relevant. She is passionate about promoting ongoing development of the CPD app to make it easy to log progress and to continue developing appropriate and engaging activities including those in the obligatory CAPE domains.
As New Zealand Vice President, Emma is focused on member engagement and working with the newly formed Aotearoa New Zealand Private Practice Committee to ensure all members and fellows, whether in public or private practice, feel connected to and engaged with RANZCOG. She is passionate about representing Aotearoa New Zealand issues at College and Board level while enhancing equitable access to quality care across the binational college, including addressing challenges in gynaecological care, maternity ultrasound provision, gynaecology oncology services and workforce shortages. This is Emma’s first term as Vice President.
