Trainees undertaking the Certificate of Women’s Health must complete a multiple-choice examination to assess knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.

From January 2026, the CWH Written Examination will be delivered as online, remotely proctored examination via the RISR/Assess examinations platform. Candidates will sit the examination using their own devices at a location that meets the requirements for a suitable exam environment.

Further details, including technical requirements and instructions for remote proctoring, will be provided to candidates along with their eligibility outcome letter.

Trainees undertaking the Associate Training Program (Procedural) must complete a multiple-choice examination to assess knowledge and understanding of the curriculum.

ĚýEffective 1st January 2025, the CWH Upgrade to PTP written examination, consisting of 50 multiple-choice questions, will be discontinued. Trainees enrolled in the PTP training program who have previously completed the CWH written examination will be required to take the full PTP written examination, which includes 150 multiple-choice questions, starting in January 2025. These trainees will still be eligible for the reduced fee that was previously available for the CWH Upgrade written examination.

Trainees undertaking the APTP must complete a highly structured oral examination designed to assess clinical competence.

This examination is held in a face-to-face format at the Assessment Learning and Examination Centre (ALEC) in Melbourne.

Eight stations, each involving:

  • 4 minutes for reading
  • 12 minutes for examination
  • 20 marks

Total: 160 marks

Approx. 2 hours 8 minutes

*Please note that this time does not include any candidate rest stations that may be included.

At each station you will:

  • Encounter an examiner or actor playing the role of a patient/colleague
  • Address at least one clinical scenario
  • Use non-technical language to explain the clinical scenario (and results), avoiding the use of jargon and acronyms

If you wish to sit the APTP oral examination and the PTP written examination in the same semester, you must apply for both examinations by the stipulated closing dates.

Online application process

1. Submit your online Expression of Interest to sit the examination

Please see the relevant Dates and Registration section above.

All expressions of interest are subject to eligibility checking after the application closing date.

2. Eligibility checking

Once the eligibility checks have been finalised, you will receive a letter from the Examinations Team advising of your eligibility outcome to sit the examination.Ěý

This will occur within four weeks after applications have closed.

3. Pay examination fees

Should you be eligible, you must pay the examination fees within seven days to secure your examination placement.

Please advise the Examinations team via email: examinations@ranzcog.edu.au if you wish to withdraw from an examination after submitting your expression of interest form, or exam payment.

Before submitting your application, please refer to the °µÍřTV Regulations (see sections E1.7, E2.7 and E3.7 on the Certificate and Procedural Examinations) for more information on topics such as eligibility, availability of places and withdrawals.

Prioritisation criteria

If there are more applications than places available for the oral examination, the College will take into account any special considerations and exceptional circumstances.

Results

Trainees will be advised of the release date for results at a pre-examination Q&A webinar held prior to the examination.

On this date, you will be able to access your results by logging into Integrate with your five-digit RANZCOG ID number and your password.

The College recommends accessing your Integrate account well before the release date to confirm your login details. To reset your password, please click the â€Forgotten password’ link.

Please note that the College has several mechanisms in place to check all examination results during processing to ensure they are correct prior to release. As such, the College does not remark examinations unless a procedural error has been identified after results have been released.
