Congratulations, Dr Gillian Gibson
Congratulations to Dr Gillian Gibson as our President-Elect!
Gill has extensive skills and experience to bring to the role of President. On behalf of the RANZCOG Board and Council, I congratulate Gill and am confident her passion and dedication will help deliver the best guidance and support to our Members and trainees across Australia and Aotearoa New Zealand.

March and April have certainly been busy advocating for our Members and trainees. Activities included:

- Participated in a Department of Health and Aged Care National Medical Workforce Strategy meeting.
- Attended the Rural Doctors Association of Australia’s rural medicine talks in Canberra.
- Attending the AGES’ Annual Scientific Meeting.
- Representing RANZCOG at the Queensland Health Termination of Pregnancy Roundtable
Events
The recent Regional Symposium in Hobart was a brilliantly organised and informative event! Thank you to all attendees, panellists, speakers and presenters, sponsors, exhibitors and industry supporters, venue and venue staff, event volunteers, RANZCOG staff, and the Organising Committee.
I am looking forward to hosting our Australian Rural Women’s Health Roundtable early next month at College Place Melbourne. This will focus on current and future workforce and training, and models of care across different jurisdictions, with an emphasis on attracting and retaining staff in rural, regional, and remote Australia to help address workforce maldistribution. The day will report on our Workforce Mapping Project and help inform the direction of RANZCOG’s Australian Rural Women’s Health Strategy.
