Program Level Requirements – CAPE activities

For a comprehensive list of recommended CAPE activities to meet your requirements, please review the CAPE Learning Activities Guide document located in .

Program level requirements are activities that facilitate professional development across the breadth of medical practice. Engagement in these activities should include opportunities for reflection on your own biases and attitudes, to help you understand how these can impact patient care.

To meet your program level requirements you will need to engage in activities for:

Cultural Safety

Providing care that is respectful, responsive, and free of racism and bias. This includes ongoing critical reflection on knowledge, attitudes, and power imbalances, and recognising the ongoing impacts of colonisation on First Nations peoples.

Addressing Health Inequities

Recognising and reducing disparities in health outcomes and access. Focuses on social determinants, policy advocacy, and interventions for marginalised populations.

Professionalism

Practitioners’ conduct and attitudes aligned with standards and ethics. Includes integrity, accountability, communication, teamwork, and upholding ethical principles.

Ethical Practice

Morally informed decisions in healthcare, considering patient rights, values, autonomy, and wellbeing. Informed consent, confidentiality, beneficence, non-maleficence, and justice is prioritised.
